BLACKENED BLOOD | Passive Buff | 

In pursuit of duty, you have met with death. In coming back you have become something more than both, yet not quite one or the other.  Burning damage over time effects now heal you. Bleed effects no longer harm you. However, poison and putrefaction abilities deals an additional 100% damage to you.

HOLLOW SOUL | Passive / Buff | 

Part of the trials of the Auric Flame is passing on. You have returned from darkness, but not all of you has survived the journey. The memory of your favorite food, those of home, or perhaps the ones you loved..

The vigor of humanity has left you, making you immune to fear and other mind altering effects. 

Fear-based stuns no longer affect you. You are immune to most forms of charms and mind control.

BANE WEAPON 

| Fast Action / Buff | 5 Endurance |

Gliding your palm along the face of your weapon, you call upon the blessing of your god,infusing the weapon with holy fire for 3 rounds.  This fiery weapon now adds a damage over time effect of 2(Wis+Dex) for 2 turns.  This effect renews its duration with each successive attack, but does not stack its effect.

(Paladins may only call upon this ability once every 6 turns of combat.)

REQUIREMENTS: 2 STR
XP COST: 40

DOOM

At the cost of your damage modifier for 1 attack, curse your enemy for 3 rounds. 

Cursed enemies receive 0 healing from skills and spells. 

 

(Paladins may only call upon this ability once every 4 turns of combat.)

REQUIREMENTS: 2 STR 1 INT

DARK BURDEN 

 

| Passive / Buff | 0 Endurance |

 

Your presence is one that thickens the air around you. You do not falter. You do not slow. You do not tire. Enemies suffer a deficit -3 applied to all escape rolls while you are conscious and involved in combat. 

REQUIREMENTS: 2 WIS  1 INT

LIVING FIRE

 

| Standard Action / Attack | 6 Endurance |

 

The favor of your god courses through you. His fire is now your life’s blood, and you may call upon these blessings to scold your enemies. This attack will cause burn damage of 2d4+Wis for 3 rounds. 

(Paladins may only call upon this ability once every 4 turns of combat.)

REQUIREMENTS: 2 WIS 2 STR

XP COST: 70

DIVINE HOST

 

 | Standard Action / Attack | 8 Endurance | 

Surrender your vessel to forces beyond, allowing divinity itself to act within the living world for a brief period of time.  Your next attack is guaranteed to hit, and guaranteed to crit. 

(Paladins may only call upon this ability once every 6 turns of combat.)

REQUIREMENTS: 3 STR 3 WIS

EMISSARY OF DEATH

Your ties with the afterlife allow you short visitations with the newly departed.  Coming in physical contact with a recently slain person brings them to life for one hour, though they are only able to speak.

 

REQUIREMENTS: 3 WIS

XP COST: 60

FIERY ESSENCE 

 

| Standard Action / Attack / Utility | 4 Endurance | 

Returned from death, Manaan’s fire flows through your veins. A single vial of your essence , caustic as it is, may serve as either a source of stored vitality, or weapon in its own right. 

 

If thrown, deal 1d12+2(Con) of burn damage following a successful attack roll. If consumed,you may heal that same amount. When healing,no additional roll is required. 

(Paladins may only call upon this ability once every 5 turns of combat.)

 

REQUIREMENTS: 3 CON

BORN OF FIRE 

| Non-combat Ability: Divine Ritual | 

Long has your order been feared and reviled for it’s dark practices - none more the macabre ritual of bonfire worship. As one of Manaan’s chosen,enemies cut down by your blade may be made to serve your needs in death - offering their flesh as fuel for a holy bonfire. As you plunge your blade deep into the corpse, you say the prayers and speak the spells known only to your order.

 

Golden fire envelops the corpse, burning brightly until the moment you draw your blade from its center. When surrounded by darkness, men of all faiths huddle around your holy fire. When in groups,party members that have rested around this fire gain Manaan’s favor, granting the group a temporary bonus of +3 to all damage modifiers for the first round of combat in the next encounter.

 

This action, if witnessed, will have consequences in certain parts of the world.
