BEHIND THE VEIL

As a Harbinger, you tread a dangerous line.  Sometimes reaching your hands where they do not belong.  Every so often, the abyss may choose to reach back. 

 

Certain skills require a volatility check on use, failure will have untold effects.

Abilities requiring a volatility check must tag a DM if the check is failed. A roll of 1d10+dc+volatility will have to be performed. Rolling below this number results in failure. 

 

This ability gives you 1 point in volatility

UNSETTLING AURA
 

| Passive / Buff | 

Wherever you go, spirits make way for fear of being used as a battery to your violent ends. This disturbance affects the living world. 

 

Though others may not see the shifts of shadows unseen about you, its change in the air is felt.  All those near a Harbinger suffer a -2 to initiative.

REQUIREMENTS: 1 DEX

PLUNDER THOUGHT 

| Reactionary / Debuff | Cost: 6 Essence |

Delve into the mind of your target, causing doubt to take root and grow.  Target must make a Wis save of 5+Attunement, or become enfeebled.

(Enfeebled characters lose their damage mod for 2 rounds.)

Cool Down: 4 turns of combat.

RUINOUS BLAST

| Standard Action / Utility | Cost: 7 Essence |

Reach blindly into the very fabric of the immaterial plane, channeling its power to fuel a powerful and explosive burst of energy to an area. 

 

This may shatter doors, fracture walls, or sunder structures.

Using this ability requires a volatility check of 2+Volatility.

 

Cool Down: 4 turns of combat.

DARK TUTELAGE

You’ve used your gift of sight beyond sight to seize every advantage.  Exploiting spirits for their knowledge, their insight.  Some would even consider you to be an agent of the dead, though you know the truth.

This ability increases your volatility by 1 point.

This ability increases your attunement by 2 point.

REQUIREMENT: 2 WIS  2 INT
XP COST: 50

SHARED ANGUISH

| Standard Action / Attack | Cost: 6 Essence | 

Reach out to the essence of a nearby spirit, clutching it as a source of power while simultaneously linking it to a target, causing them to experience the same trauma down to their core.  This ability deals 3d4 for each point of attunement they have.

Using this ability requires a volatility check of 1+Volatility.

Cool Down: 4 turns of combat. 

 

REQUIREMENT: 2 INT 1 DEX
XP COST: 65

AMPLIFY PAIN

| Fast Action / Debuff | Cost: 8 Essence | 

Perception is reality.  Reach out to a target’s mind, tricking them into perceiving pain far worse than what has occurred, making it real enough. 

 

Target must make a Wis save vs 5+Attunement or receive 50% more damage for 2 rounds from all sources.

Cool Down: 4 turns of combat. 

REQUIREMENT: 3 WIS 2 DEX

VEILED VESSEL

| Passive / Buff | 

Your understanding of self has been forever altered by the knowledge you possess.  You see people not for the pound of flesh they wade about in. 

 

Your body is only a vessel, and a temporary one to be shed one day.  This perception is a dangerous one. 

This ability increases your volatility by 1 point.

This ability increases your attunement by 1 point.

REQUIREMENT: 3 INT  3 CON
XP COST: 80

MIND SHATTER

| Standard Action / Attack |Cost: 12 Essence | 

Drawing upon a vast reservoir of spiritual and mental power, bring your volition to bear, inflicting your enemies with a debilitating sense of mental anguish.    

 

Up to 3 targets must make a Wis save of 5+attunement or become dazed, exposed, and enfeebled.

Using this ability requires a volatility check of 1+Volatility. 

Daze: 1 round.

Enfeeble/Exposed: 2 rounds.

Cool Down: 6 turns of combat.

DARK BOON
 

| Passive / Buff | 

Great risks may yield even greater rewards.  Your every action is a gamble when tampering with forces unseen. 

 

For each point of volatility, gain an additional damage mod of +2.

XP COST: 95

PETITIONER OF THE VEIL 

| Passive / Buff | 

You deign to barter with the entities from the realm beyond.  Such a risk may reap untold rewards, or dreadful consequences.  Your ties to such supernatural powers are beyond the ken of mortal minds and are the reason your kind are outlawed

 

This ability increases your attunement point by 1. 

 

REQUIREMENT: 4 CON 4 INTEL
