AWAKENED SOUL | Passive | 

As you draw your first ragged breath, darkness breaks to make way for the light - the warmth seeps back into your skin. Once more you walk among the living.  You dare not reach into the depths of your memory, lest you draw the attention of that you only narrowly escaped. 

 

It is a place beyond imagining. Yet in other ways your soul has awakened, bringing you closer to forces unseen; to an unknown realm all mortal beings whisper of with dread.

 

This attunement has granted you a higher form of being, making it not only possible to see and hear the dead that still roam this plane's physical realm and beyond, but for your mind to grasp and channel forces from that most strange and unknowable of places - the very place you may someday return..

This ability increases your attunement by 1 point.

TELEKINESIS 
 

| Standard Action / Utility | 1 Essence | 

A mage’s will can reach for the forces of the world, molding it to their desire. For you the seeker, the forces of the world bend and succumb to you. 

 

This skill grants ability to move objects be they small or large through the use of your mind alone. For each point in attunement, your influence over physical objects increases.  Each one point accounts for roughly 20 lbs of weight.

CHANNELED STRIKING

| Fast Action / Buff | 5 Essence (Repeating) |

It is always there, the veil that shrouds the waking world from that which lies beyond. You feel it’s gentle caress against your conscience, never forgotten, but always beyond sight. Harness the strength of this otherworldly essence to empower your every move and intent. For as long as you maintain this channel, you deal an additional d2 per point in attunement.

This skill will operate at a continuous cost of 5 essence each round for however long the channel remains active.

(Soulseekers may only call upon this ability once every 5 turns of combat.)

SPLINTER OF THE MIND

| Fast Action / Debuff |   6 Essence |

You seek the thoughts of your target, reaching into the very depths of their subconscious mind. Whatever their fear, worry or inhibition, it now seeks to claw its way to the surface. Under this effect, your target will receive a -2 modifier to their next saving throw.

Cool Down:  5 turns of combat.

REQUIREMENTS: 1 STR 1 DEX

DEAFENING SILENCE 

|  Fast Action / Debuff | Cost: 7 Essence |

Expand a target’s senses and bestow upon them otherworldly hearing, tormenting them in the moment with the voices you live with. 

 

Target must make a Wis save vs 5+Int or be enfeebled.

(Enfeebled characters lose their damage mod for 2 rounds.)

Cool Down: 4 Turns of combat.

SOULSIGHT

| Standard Action / Utility | Cost: 10 Essence (Channeled) |

The otherworldly sight of a Seeker is not bound to the souls of the dead alone.  Through great focus, a Seeker may peer into the distance and see the auras of other beings, even those lying in wait by way of guile and stealth. This ability is straining, and can only be maintained for a few moments.

 

 

REQUIREMENT: 2 WIS 2 INTEL

REPULSE

| Standard Action / Attack | Cost: 8 Essence |

Create a shockwave of telekinetic energy, driving away all enemies.  Each hostile target must make a Con saving throw vs 3+Attunement or take 4d4 damage and be unable to attack the Soulseeker for 1 round.  Success in this save reduces damage by half.

Cool Down: 5 Turns of combat.

ETHEREAL LINK

| Fast Action / Buff | Cost: 10 Essence |

Create a temporary but potent bond between yourself and another.  In the next round of combat, your damage dice are combined, however, any damage or debuffs inflicted on one of the two, likewise affects the other.

 

IE: Warrior with 1d20+3 and Seeker with 1d16+4 both have 1d36, retaining their own damage mod.

Cool Down: Once per combat.

WAYWARD SPIRIT 

| Standard Action / Utility | Cost: 5 Essence |

What is history, if not moments and memories all but lost with the passage of time? Yet there are some who do not forget....and there are those who linger behind. Seek the guidance and commune with nearby spirits, asking them what has come to pass within an area. 

The Seeker pay perform a roll of 1d10+wis+attunement as they attempt to seek echoes of the past within a place of significance. 

(A DM is required to take action with this skill)

SPEAKER OF THE DEAD 

| Standard Action / Utility | Cost: 1 Essence |

In brushing with that which lies beyond, you are more than you once were. Your body and mind are now capable of becoming a vessel for wayward souls; especially for those eagerly seeking to be heard.

 

With this ability you may temporarily harbor another spirit, giving them the ability to communicate using your body.

 

REQUIREMENT: 3 WIS

ONEIROMANCY

| Standard Action / Utility | Cost: 1 Essence | 

The Seeker is able to temporarily enter the mind of a sleeping character, knowingly or otherwise. If the soulseeker is attempting to do this against the will of the character, they must make an attunement check vs 5+wis of the defending player, or awaken the target.

While within the person’s mindscape, they may see into the target’s subconscious memories.  This effect must be done within reach of the target.

WHISPERS OF THE SOUL

| Passive / Buff | 

Sometimes death comes unjustified. Cruelly. Leaving behind a mark in the physical world. This mark could be left at the place of their death, or within an object close to them, holding shimmers of their essence.

 

Soulseekers are able to detect these anomalies and interact with them.

 

Depending on how strong the energy signature is, a Seeker coming into contact with it can begin to form a link to the spirit who left it behind, able to catch glimpses of their past life, or what happened to them.

 

Grants 1 point of attunement. 

 

REQUIREMENT: 3 INT 3 CON
XP COST: 75

DISTURBING PRESENCE 

| Passive / Buff | 

Your connection to the veil gives you a strange and palpable aura.  Ever so slightly off putting to others, yet inexplicable. 

 

Gain a passive +2 to Int based saving throws.

 

 

REQUIREMENT: 3 INT 3 DEX
XP COST: 85

SPECTRAL TRAVELER

| Standard Action / Utility |  Cost: 1 Essence | 

Through intensive meditation and training, you’ve developed the ability to shed your corporeal form.  Allowing you to move between the immaterial space between planes exactly as a spirit would. 

 

In this state, you may freely speak with specific spirits, granted that you possess a personal belonging that might serve as a sufficient anchor to summon them forth.  A Seeker may encounter any number of spirits in this form, friendly or otherwise.

 

Their physical body remains vulnerable, and appears to be in a deep sleep.  A seeker who is separated from their body for too long, runs the risk of garnering the attention of malicious entities in search of a suitable vessel.

EXTRASENSORY PERCEPTION

| Passive / Buff |
 

In becoming more in tune with that which lies beyond, your ability to perceive the world around you has increased considerably, bringing you to an elevated state of consciousness.

 

Gain a passive +2 to Wis based insight rolls.

This ability increases your attunement by 1 point.
