Taeth-Van'en

"It is a piece of living history. Great sterling towers finer than diamond or silk. All cast upon a canvas of vivid blue and white by day. She shines like great and marvelous zenith of arcane light, cast atop a raven gown full of stars."

Amidst rolling hills and high peaked mountains.. Betwixt deep valleys with lakes that stretch their fingers into the depths of the world- rests the city of Taeth-Van'en, the final bastion of high elven culture that harkens to the Elder days. High towers rise towards the painted skies above- white stones basking in the sunlight while life teems beneath them. Fountains flowing with crystalline water in exquisite gardens, of such magnificence as its other worldly caretakers.

In Taeth-Van'en, man and elf live side by side. A city of arcane beauty, majesty...and treachery.

Those who play the grand game in Taeth-Van'en would do well to remember its volatile nature. Alliances rise only to fall, and cooperation is as fleeting as the throes of spring. Intrigue, scheming, espionage and murder are all part and parcel of life for a citizen of this mesmerizing city, be they commoner, minor noble or one of the great ruling families. Yet none can compare in both power and magnificence than the High Priest and Priestess...though many will try.

Lorenburg

The village of Lorenburg is small, but its humble appearances are deceiving. brimming with life, those who call this quaint town home are as proud as any city dweller. Located on the road between the great cityTaeth-Van'en and Emery Bay, travelers will often breaking their journey in Lorenburg.

While it cannot compare to the port city of Emery Bay, many manner of amenities necessary for travel can be found within its shops, and the Journey's Rest Inn is well known for its good food, comfort and the current gossip.

Wherever the road might lead, Lorenburg can make all the difference on a road that may be fraught with peril.

The road to Taeth-Van'en

Amber valleys bathed in summer's light. Green fields flush with vivid blossoms as soft gales of cool wind whisper between tree branches.

The road north to Taeth-Van'en is almost as beautiful as the city itself, but the journey is a long one. From Lorenburg, it would take a traveler three weeks or more to make the trek. There are two paths one might take. Straight north is the fastest, and along the way a weary traveler may find rest with one of the farm stands just beneath the shadow of the great hills. It is only lately the Highland Pass has become exceedingly dangerous, making travel by it nearly impossible for those ill prepared.

The alternative is to follow the river, a path that extends the journey, but safer by far. Yet, who knows what the adventurer will come along. Even amidst peace and beauty there is always something, or someone watching.

The Deepwood

The Deepwood - A forest of immeasurable size, rumored to be as old as the world itself. A vast network of winding paths, gorges, lakes and trees so thick and tall they rival even the highest towers of Taeth'Vanen. Or so they say.

Swaths of lush green canopies can be seen for as far as the eye can behold. The territory of the Deepwood makes up the entire region between Adewald and the far North, and even spans into both north and south. In recent years, travel and trade between the two great countries extremely difficult, leaving only the mountain passages for those bold enough.

Now, many of those who enter are soon lost, or never seen again. Taken, some say...by those who dwell within. The elusive Ana'Varith call this great forest home, but they are not the only ones. For even the sylvan elves must pay reverence to the Deepwood.

Emery Bay

When it comes to size and culture, no other place in Adewald can compare to Emery Bay. Located along the southern coast of the region, it is a massive melting pot of people and culture, home to many a human, elf, dwarf, and others besides. Its four districts are each large enough to be considered small townships in their own right, connected by a watery webway of canals.

More recently, this trade jewel of Adewald was put to the torch during a vicious attack by the sylvan elves of the deepwood and their allies. Though many escaped, many and more were lost in the tragedy. The city now lies in ruins.

Just outside the northern gate, lush green plains span the horizon, with farms sprawled out as far as the eye can see. The fertile land and moderate climate make lend perfect conditions for growing crops and vegetables. Every year the harvest is celebrated with a large festival, and people from all over region come to partake in the revelries

Nethram

Seated along the realm's eastern borders, the fortress city of Nethram straddles the lines between two worlds. A progressive, and forward moving west, coupled with a strange and mysterious east, this heavily fortified city has stood it's ground against countless would-be invaders.

The orcish hordes that descend from the mountains have broken themselves against Nethram's walls time and again, only to ever meet with the same outcome. The one time they came close to breaching the city, the holy warrior Manaan rode out with his anointed knights, scattering the enemy armies, and ensuring the city would live to learn from it's costly mistakes.

Largely removed from the politics of the region, the city of Nethram none the less stands in a state of constant vigil along the eastern border. The orcish hordes may have been banished forever, but only time tell whether the fohnaari army that gathers along their borders may prove themselves an even greater threat.

St. Andran

St. Andran. The pillar and pride of human culture and southern tradition within Adewald. Made the capital in only recent years, it houses the royal family and their treacherous court, but some would have it say that the Crown is not the true source of power that radiates from this bastion.

Here is where the Violet Inquisition makes its headquarters.Their influence spreads like veins through the body of Adewald, but its beating heart resides within St. Andran, cloistered and protected by the great fortress city. Unlike Emery Bay, only humans are welcome to live freely behind it's walls. Hardly is an exception made.
